Flowers from Travis

PETCO-Where the pets go! And the Mariners.

This week has been a good one! To begin, I will start with the thing that sticks out in my memory most. To make a slightly long story shorter, I will just say that Travis and I were greeted by a SWAT team the other morning outside our apartment. I guess the guy below us on the first floor had called 9-1-1 stating that he had a gun and a hostage and was going to kill someone. AWESOME.Turns out it was just a man who didn't want to take his meds and the only hostage was himself. Of course, we found this all out AFTER the SWAT team led us to the laundry room for some quick questions. It was frightening to say the least.

On a lighter note, Travis and I have now been married for just over 2 months now. WOOT! He surprised me with some great flowers, which are now in full bloom. Such a cutie, I know. Other fun news, Travis will be 32 years young on Sept. 30. We are going to fly to San Diego, CA with our fantastic flight benefits to watch the Mariners play the Padres @ PETCO Field. We are pretty excited, I hope it turns out to be a  good birthday for him. He deserves a fun one! That is the third state we will have visited within the last month. :)

I will let him update on how his birthday was with, hopefully, some good pictures and good memories.

Priceless

On Monday we went to Trav's hometown of Sitka, Alaska. It was sunny and clear when we landed that morning. I could hardly keep myself together, I was so excited to finally get to check it out. It did rain off and on while we were there, but still GORGEOUS nonetheless. We looked for crabs under rocks, visited with his Cooler than the Cosby's family, ran into a friend or two or his, got yelled @ by a crazy homeless man. You know, the usual vacation stuff  :)

We are considering moving up there to be closer to the family. We are trying to figure every way possible to make it work financially. I swear to God a can of green beans cost $3.00. I think we would be catching those crabs we were finding on the beach and eating them for lunch everyday....they were very tiny crabs, mind you.

I really had a blast up there. I would pick to visit there over Las Vegas any day. Never again, Las Vegas, never again. Family like his is priceless. Nothing makes we want to stay so far away from them. Not even the price of EVERYTHING there. Near them is where I want to be. Just figuring out all the details is the task ahead.

Cave Woman

Here it is, fellow bloggers. The beginning of Smith Chowder has arrived. I have caved in to my boredom and decided to let the world into my Newlywed lifestlye. I'm so 21st century now.

Travis will also be posting on here to help keep everyone updated. We aren't really sure where we are going with this yet, but I'm 100% sure that it will either be incredibly awesome or along the lines of the Web's Blog Hall of Shame. Enjoy!
